- The Golden Bachelor season 2 officially has a new villain: Nicolle Kate Briscoe.
- Nicolle admitted that she hoped the show launched her career as an influencer in the Oct. 8 episode of the season, telling the women that she wanted “Housewives status.”
- Mel gave Nicolle his final rose of the night.
At this point in Bachelor Nation, we know that all contestants are—at least a little bit—there for the wrong reasons, but rarely do singles come in with such brazen ulterior motives as the official The Golden Bachelor season 2 villain Nicolle Kate Briscoe.
From the start of the season, Nicolle has been one of the more aggressively competitive women vying for Mel Owens’ heart. And she solidified her villain status this week after she openly told the women in the mansion that she didn’t come on The Golden Bachelor for love, but for fame.
“I’ve told myself from the beginning, I’m not dating Mel—I’m dating America. I’m dating everybody watching, and not watching. That gives you exposure like you’ve never had,” she said, shocking the other women.
When Robin Rocha then asked the ladies what they hoped for after the show, Nicolle said, “My Instagram is mostly just healthy, plant-based recipes, but I would love to be a spokeswoman for mid-life, beauty products, or health-oriented products.” She continued, “I would become more and more of an influencer.”
As if that wasn’t enough to make us doubt her intentions, she also decided to insult the women who appeared on season 1 of The Golden Bachelor. Talking about how she envisioned their group reaching “Housewives status,” she said, “If they’re smart the way the publicity goes with our beautiful [cast]—I’m sorry, but the last cast? They weren’t so great-looking.”
Robin was obviously turned off by Nicolle’s comments and decided to do something about it—sort of. During their private one-on-one time on this week’s group date, Robin told Mel that some of the women in the mansion weren’t “completely authentic.” She continued, refusing to name names, “I think people are self-serving. Because, potentially, they have an opportunity to promote whatever they’re trying to promote.”
Mel seemed unbothered by Robin’s vague warning, telling the cameras later that while the warning gave him “pause,” he believed “everybody’s here for the right reasons.” Robin ended up being sent home while Nicolle received the final rose of the night.
It’ll be interesting to see if other women decide to discuss their suspicions about Nicolle with Mel. Given how badly that ended for Robin, some may be deterred. However, if Nicolle continues to disrespect the other women in the mansion—like, say, by telling Mel she baked him lemon bars when it was a group effort—she could be in for a rude awakening.
